Food Justice and Brahminism: The case of ABVP violence in JNUFraternity Movement JNU condemns in strong terms the Violence and Terror unleashed by ABVP goons on JNU Students over eating non-veg food in the mess on 10th April 2022. Abvp manhandled the Muslim food distributors, who usually distribute non-veg food to different messes in the campus. They were threatened and had to return from the campus because of Abvp violence. After that, Abvp started violence against the students who demanded that the food choices of everyone should be respected and non-veg food should be served inside the campus. The issue is an apparent attack on the food choices of Muslims, Dalits and other people who have diverse food choices than the savarnas understanding of food. Brahminism never like diversity in food, dresses as what happened in the case of hijab, and they want to make every educational institution as Agraharas. This incident is a very planned Attack of the Sangh Parivar forces, which ultimately destroys the diversity of jnu students and their lifeworld. We stand in solidarity with the injured students, students who were denied food, and we will carry forward this struggle against ABVP terrorism and Islamophobia. We demand that the culprits involved in the Sangh terror attack on students must be punished immediately. We will not tolerate any Food Apartheid, and we believe food justice is Social Justice.Fraternity movement JNU.
